Electrochemical Kinetics Study of Ultrasound-Assisted Chalcopyrite Oxidation

Abstract Ultrasound-assisted chalcopyrite leaching has been reported previously, showing a noticeable improvement in kinetics. However, the effect of ultrasound on oxidation kinetics from an electrochemical perspective not addressed. This study examines ultrasonic enhancement sulfuric acid solution both conventional and electrochemistry aspects. Electrochemical techniques, including linear sweep voltammetry (LSV) chronoamperometry (CA), were used to illustrate ultrasound-assisted leaching. Tafel analysis by LSV showed that 20% amplitude power had increased dissolution rate about Fe 3+ -free 10 mM -containing 0.5 M solution. The CA tests indicated drastic increase reduction reaction when was applied (20% amplitude). At V, 2+ current density at 30 min drastically − 65.54 without 1165.84 µA cm −2 with ultrasound. Graphical
